Position Summary

The Technical Director (TD) is responsible for leading the overall technical vision, coaching methodology, and long-term player development strategies across the club. This role provides leadership to coaching staff, oversees program development, and oversees the delivery of our Game Model.

 

 

Job Duties

  • Act as the Club’s chief spokesperson for Club-level technical matters involving AASC and other governing bodies and leagues.
  • Recruit, develop and directly manage the Club’s Technical Team, including Division Lead Coaches, technical staff and volunteer coaches where applicable.
  • Ensure delivery and/or access to a comprehensive Grassroots and safe sport coaching curriculum.
  • Ensure that methodology and teachings within all AASC programs aligns with the Canada Soccer Association (CSA) Long Term Player Development (LTPD) Model.
  • Work collaboratively with Upper Island, Lower Island Youth Clubs and other organizations to provide playing opportunities for players within the Club’s competitive steam.
  • Coordinate U8-U11 Development Soccer (DS) program.
  • Coordinate seasonal planning and provide the following training opportunities and programs when applicable: Grade 2 Soccer Clinic’s, Pre-Season Fitness Training, Girl’s Nights, Goal Keeper Clinics, jamborees and/or camps.
  • Responsible for assisting the AASC Treasurer in the completion of the Canadian Soccer Association Club Licensing Program requirements. .
  • Oversee Tier 2 player evaluations, tryouts, and team placements.
  • Coordinates any ‘playing up’ requests within the Club.
  • Collaborate with various leads on budgeting, equipment, kit and facilities needs.

 

 

Reporting

  • Work collaboratively and report to the AASC President and Executive for support and direction.
  • Work collaboratively under the current Technical Director for a predetermined period, receiving training, support, and direction.
  • Provide the AASC Board of Directors with monthly technical reports for inclusion in monthly Board meetings.
  • Contribute to sub-committees as needed/required.
  • Support a culture of integrity, respect, inclusivity, and player-first development.
  • Communicate effectively with staff, board members, players, and families.

 

Qualifications

  • Advanced CSA coaching licenses or equivalent. Minimum C License..      
  • Grassroots and additional safe sport training.
  • Minimum of 2 years of coaching experience at competitive youth or higher levels.
  • Understanding of principles of the CSA’s Long-Term Player Development model.
  • Canadian citizen, Permanent Resident of Canada, or have a valid work permit.
  • Must undergo a Criminal Record Check.

 

 

Compensation & Benefits

  • This is a part time flexible position based on approximately 20 hours per week. Hours will vary through the year.
  • Hourly Rate – will be renegotiated based on experience.
