The Alberni Athletics Soccer Club (AASC) encourages all teams to participate in tournaments throughout the season, offering valuable development opportunities. This policy applies to all coaches, team managers, players, and members involved in tournaments. Teams must notify the Club before registering for any tournament, whether local or out-of-town, and ensure player contact information, including emergency details, is available.

Teams must receive approval from the AASC Executive before registering by emailing the AASC Administrator at admin@alberniathletics.ca with their intent to participate. The Executive can deny participation if the tournament is not sanctioned, if the team has previously failed to represent AASC appropriately, or if the tournament is not in the best interest of the players or Club. Once approved, teams must submit registration confirmation, a team roster, and criminal record checks for coaches and managers.

Coaches are responsible for the safety and conduct of players during tournaments and must follow the AASC Coaches and Parent Codes of Conduct. Non-compliance may lead to disciplinary action. This policy will be reviewed annually for effectiveness.

How to Request Tournament Approval

 

Coaches or managers must email their intent to participate to the AASC Administrator:
admin@alberniathletics.ca

Your initial request must include:

  • Tournament name, location, and dates

  • Team/division

  • Coach or manager contact information

Once received, the Administrator will forward your request to the AASC Executive for review.
Approval is required prior to registering the team.

After Approval

Once the Executive approves your intention to participate, the coach/manager may register the team.
After registration, the following must be submitted to the AASC Administrator:

  1. Confirmation of tournament registration (entry details such as event name and location)

  2. A team roster confirming all players are registered and insured with AASC/BC Soccer
